Westport WA Attractions

Tour the tallest lighthouse in Washington State in addition to the Maritime Museum or walk along nearby state park beaches. There are many worthwhile maritime attractions here in Westport.

Grayland Beach Road State Park

This park is 412 acres located on the Washington coast, about 10 miles south of Westport with over seven miles of wide beach, which is perfect for walking, jogging, and beachcombing. Visitors can also fish for salmon, surf perch, and other species from the beach, or launch a kite or hang glide from the sand dunes. In addition, the beach is a popular destination for clamming when the season is open.

Grays Harbor Lighthouse

The lighthouse is located on the south side of the entrance to Grays Harbor and has been in operation since 1898.  The lighthouse tower stands at 107 feet tall and is the tallest lighthouse in Washington State. It is painted with distinctive black and white stripes and is visible for miles along the coast. Visitors can climb the tower's 135 steps to the top, where they can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area, including the ocean, harbor, and nearby beaches.  In addition to the lighthouse tower, the Grays Harbor Lighthouse also features a keeper's house and other historic buildings, which have been preserved and restored to their original condition. Visitors can tour the keeper's house and learn about the history of the lighthouse, as well as the lives of the families who lived and worked there.

Port of Gray's Harbor Observation Tower

This observation tower is a great starting point for exploring the Westport area and its many attractions. It offers panoramic views of Grays Harbor, Westport, Half Moon Bay, and the Olympic Mountains.  There is no admission and pets are permitted.

Twin Harbor State Park

This 225-acre park is located on the Washington coast, about three miles south of Westport. The park features over three miles of oceanfront beach and is a popular destination for camping, beachcombing, birdwatching, and other outdoor activities. One of the main attractions of Twin Harbors State Park is its expansive beach, which is perfect for activities such as walking, jogging, and kite flying. Visitors can also explore the beach's tide pools, which are home to a variety of marine life including anemones, starfish, and crabs.

Westhaven State Park

The park has 79 acres of beautiful shoreline located in Westport, Washington, on the south end of Grays Harbor. It features two miles of oceanfront beach and is a popular destination for beachcombing, clamming, fishing, and wildlife viewing.  One of the main attractions of Westhaven State Park is its long stretch of sandy beach, which is perfect for activities such as walking, jogging, and beachcombing. Visitors can also fish for salmon, surf perch, and other species from the beach or from the jetty at the park's south end. In addition, the beach is a popular destination for clamming when the season is open. The park has several picnic areas with tables and fire pits, as well as a covered shelter that can be reserved for larger groups.

Westport Maritime Museum

This museum features exhibits on local maritime history, including the fishing and shipping industries. It is located adjacent to the Grays Harbour Lighthouse.
